Ordinary E-Passport
APPLICATION FEES
*A child passport costs twenty-five thousand (25,000) FRW
*An adult passport valid for 5 years’ costs seventy-five thousand (75,000) FRW
*An adult passport valid for 10 years’ costs one hundred thousand (100,000) FRW
REQUIREMENTS
APPLICANTS OF 16 YEARS AND ABOVE
A. Rwandan ID card or passport
B. Submit a complete passport application form and pay a fee directly at www.irembo.gov.rw
C. The applicant will be notified by the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration (DGIE), though email, to come to the Embassy in Harare to give the biometrics (the 10 fingerprints and digital passport photo).
D. Schedule your biometrics appointment at info@rwandaembassy.co.zw and provide your:
*Irembo reference number
*Confirmation from Director General of Immigration and Emigration for biometrics scanning appointment
What to bring with you at your biometrics scanning appointment:
*Irembo reference number
*Rwandan national ID or passport
*Consular card (if any)
The passport will be processed in Rwanda, but collection will be at the Embassy of Rwanda.
Note: Prior to making an appointment please forward your confirmation email from Irembo which requests you visit your nearest Embassy to info@rwandaembassy.co.zw. If you have not received and forwarded this email, please do not book an appointment.
CHILD WITH LEGALLY MARRIED PARENTS
• Application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration signed by both parents
• Copy of both parents’ identity cards
• Child’s birth certificate
• Parents’ marriage certificate
• Payment of passport
CHILD WHO LOST BOTH PARENTS
• Application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration signed by the guardian(s).
• Copy of the guardian’s identity card(s)
• Child’s birth certificate
• Death certificate for both parents
• Copy of a legal guardianship
• Payment of passport
CHILD WHO LOST ONE PARENT
• Application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration signed by the living parent
• Copy of the living parent’s Identity Card
• Child’s birth certificate
• Death certificate of the deceased parent
• Payment of passport
CHILD WITH DIVORCED PARENTS
• Application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration signed by both parents
• Child’s birth certificate
• Copy of the identity cards of both parents
• Copy of divorce judgment
• Payment of passport
CHILD WHO’S PARENTS ARE NOT LEGALLY MARRIED
• Application letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration and Emigration signed by both parents
• Copy of the identity card of both parents
• Child’s birth certificate
• Celibacy certificate of the mother
• In case the child stays with the father, he presents the certificate of recognition issued by the sector authorities
• Payment of passport
NB:
The passports issued up to 27th June 2019 shall be valid until 27th June 2021.
