Rwanda and Zimbabwe established Embassies in Harare and Kigali in 2019. Rwanda and Zimbabwe have a very special relationship as they have striking similarities in the size of their economies, population, stages of development and history.

Mission

To promote and protect the interests of the Republic of Rwanda in the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Republic of Botswana, by strengthening and deepening political, cultural, scientific and economic relations between the Government and people of the Republic of Rwanda and the Government and the people of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Government and the people of the Republic of Botswana as well as serving the needs of Rwandans living in Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Mandate

To contributing to the implementation of the Rwanda Foreign Policy by promoting the excellent relations based on respect and mutual interests;

- Strengthening bilateral relations between Rwanda and Zimbabwe and other countries accredited to the Rwanda Embassy in Zimbabwe;

– Promoting and protecting the interests of Rwanda as well as those of the Rwandans living in Zimbabwe and Botswana and to involve them in the development of Rwanda;

- Mobilizing and attracting foreign investments to Rwanda and arrange for Rwandan products to enter foreign markets;

- Following up on the implementation, evaluation and monitoring of the bilateral and multilateral agreements;

- Strengthening the positive image of Rwanda by correcting the wrong perception of the outside world and safeguard the unity and history of the Rwanda and her people;

- Contributing to the creation of wealth through the promotion of regional integration and fair global trade.

The Embassy of Rwanda in Zimbabwe in effort to increase trade and investment partnerships have embarked on the below project

Trade and Investment Conference

Zimbabwe has key competences in education, mining, manufacturing, agriculture, financial services and tourism. Rwanda on the other hand has managed to establish very strong institutions as the basis of its economy as a result scoring highly on the global measures of ease of doing business.
